Sara Hardy
Sara Hardy is a documentary director and producer with 28 years of experience. Having worked in-house at the BBC for 13 years she then co-founded Gold Star Productions in 2009, and in 2025 founded Hardy Films. Sara is known for major institutional access series, and for her sensitive approach to observational filmmaking. Her films and series include Wounded, BBC, 90’(BAFTA, RTS winner, nominated Prix Europa, Grierson, Broadcast), Deborah James: Bowelbabe in Her Own Words, BBC Storyville, 79’ (2 Gold Awards at New York Festivals, NTA nominated), The Prosecutors, BBC, two series (nominated BAFTA, RTS Craft), and The Unspeakable Crime: Rape, BBC, 60’ (Winner WFTV, 2nd Place Prix Europa, nominated BAFTA, BAFTA Craft, RTS, Broadcast).
